Words can’t describe how angry and disappointed I am over what the STROBOCLIP HD has done to my 2016 Les Paul Standard Traditional. After leaving it on for merely a short period of playing, it put marks on the headstock that ate into the finish. Non-marring rubber jaws? That’s what it says in the product description but far from accurate. I purchased this guitar at the NAMM show and has babied it ever since. But who would’ve guessed permanent damage has now been done by a clip-on!! There should be a warning to users if this is what the tuner can do to headstock finishes. Instead you claim that the rubber jaws are non-marring!

The tuning function of the tuner is unmatched by any other I’ve used before. But Peterson… am I supposed to take the clip on off in between every song when I practice or during live shows? I might as well go with the tuner pedals then? Anyhow, extremely extremely angry, sad and disappointed. I literally cried.

My review was then followed up by John Norris from the Peterson team. Although the company could not compensate me financially, he offered me complimentary product to help with my repair cost. He even went the extra miles of looking up and contacting to get a quote from a local official Gibson Service Center who can fix the headstock.

For that reason, I have updated my review from 1 star to 3 stars.
