Thumbs up for this well thought out tuning solution! I have the StroboVUE device that is easy to read and interpret. It is super-fast in displaying my pitch as there is no weird lag compared with other pedal tuners or headstock tuners I've used. The display is plenty big enough to show any motion indicating sharp or flat and to show the code of the mode you're in. Some words on the display are tiny and are not viewable from a floor pedal position, but you would probably have the unit up on a desk if you were adjusting settings, so it's not a big deal. The customizable colors will make switching between different tunings a snap. (Think: switching between instruments like a 6-string guitar, bass, lap steel, 7-string when they're color-coded.)
My only hiccups were:
a) When I first tried to use the USB connection to see if there were any updates at the Peterson support web page, I used an unsupported browser. My tuner was not recognized. Switching to Microsoft Edge did the trick. I feel like a jerk for not trying other browsers sooner. (The support page did mention a list of browsers, so that was on me.)
b) I felt I had to really dig to find the lists of tunings and sweetened tunings that the StoboVUE has available. The devise displays 3-letter codes that you scroll through to find the one you want. Some are semi-descriptive, some are pretty esoteric. I had to get help in finding the lists, but now I'm good-to-go.
I didn't think either of these two "issues" warranted dinging Peterson a star on an otherwise solid unit.
I would recommend this product.
