I've used LOTS of tuners, mostly clip-on. They all work OK but most are not great. I even have Peterson clip-on that I bought before I purchased this Strobo-stomp Mini and it was the best, by far, of all the clip-ons. So, why did I buy a Strobo-stomp mini if I already had a Strobo-Clip? The clip-on is great if you mostly play unplugged acoustic guitars and you don't gig (which described me until recently as I thought my gigging days were over). But I find myself in a band again and playing electric guitar a little over half of the time. So the Strobo-stomp Mini makes more sense now. It's small enough to squeeze onto my pedalboard and it works perfectly. Summary: if you play mostly unplugged, get the clip. If you mostly play plugged-in, get the stomp.

I used an old mechanical peterson strobe way back in high school and I've seen Metallica use one in their documentary. I should have realized what a necessity this really is. After intonating a couple of my guitars I'm sold. I've even purchased other Peterson strobe products because you're never going to get the results without one.
