I have been a Peterson Strobe user since 1976, when my band acquired a Peterson 400. I still have it, and it works flawlessly! This is my third Stroboclip. I had one that failed due to being unprotected and cracked the screen. I lost the battery cover on the second, which Peterson replaced at no cost. Their customer service is top-notch! As for the new Stroboclip HDC, the first thing about it is IT'S RECHARGABLE! No more batteries! I play both 6 and 12-string acoustic guitars. There is a setting specifically for 12-string, which makes tuning a lot easier. The biggest problem is tuning the B strings, which are the main culprit in tuning a 12-string. The idea of the colored screens makes it adaptable in almost any situation. I still leave it on the default "orange" colored screen. I love tuning with this thing! I have become a tuning fanatic because of my experience with Peterson. It is so sensitive that it picks up the vibrations on my guitars from the PA speakers. It ca ...

STROBOCLIP HDC is probably the best clip tuner I've ever owned. Perfect control, quick tuning, great setting options via the app and the ability to add a large number of other tunings that can be downloaded for free, or create your own very precise tuning for any instrument, it's incredible. I was very pleased with the recharge. Peterson is a bit more expensive, but it's worth it and tunes perfectly. I can only recommend it.

Love that it is rechargeable and has the accuracy and quality of my other Peterson tuners!

Was using another brand of clip-on tuner but had never tried a strobe. My sales rep at Sweetwater Sound suggested I try a Peterson Strobe Tuner. Couldn't be happier with it. Guitar sounds perfect tp my ears now.

Overall excellent tuner. I was easily able to connect to Peterson to download a sweetener that was not included in the stock unit and it works great. The only downside to the tuner (hence 4 stars instead of 5) is the fact that the tuner can't display cents digitally like the phone app does. Please make that available as a firmware update!

Perfect, just like every other Peterson tuner I’ve owned.
The only thing I really miss is having more clip options besides the chunky “fat” clip and the violin clip. The existing clips are clearly designed for guitar-type instruments and violins, not for a more complex, unconventional instrument. A slimmer clip would help a lot, or some sort of clip kit with different sizes, extensions, or alternative mounting solutions (something like a permanent screw-mount option) would be amazing.
I use this exclusively on my hurdy-gurdy, and there’s practically nowhere to clip it. The instrument is packed with strings, tuning pegs, knobs, bridges, moving parts and everything else, so any usable edge is either too thick, too tight, or awkwardly placed. I honestly wouldn’t mind mounting it permanently somewhere, but with the two existing clip styles, neither one fits well enough to make that practical.
That said, once it’s on there, it’s fantastic: super accurate, stable, and easy to read, and it ...
