First off, I’ve never been particularly convinced by clip-on tuners, mainly because my experience has been with cheap £10–£20 efforts. They’re OK and do a reasonable job.
Then enter the Peterson StroboClip HDC—wow, it’s superb. I bought it mainly for adjusting intonation and setting up my guitars, but it now lives on my Taylor.
I’ve used various tuner pedals and the built-in tuners on my Quad Cortex, Kemper and Helix. I found the Helix tuner so frustrating that I drove 150 miles to Guildford to buy a PolyTune pedal! The Peterson has impressed me enough that I’ve since got rid of the PolyTune.
I love the strobe display, the choice of colours and the instrument-specific tuning options. It’s also easy to just switch on and use, without getting into all the settings.
Unfortunately, I managed to catch the corner of it against a wooden sound diffuser in my studio and cracked the screen cover. I think I was just unlucky with where it caught, as the tuner itself still worked flawlessly.

The Strobclip HDC is working out perfectly for me on my acoustic guitar. I have other tuners and had an older standard Peterson clip-on and this one clearly beats them for accuracy and ease of use. I doubt I would use many of the Sweetened tunings, but having the one for standard guitar alone is an awesome feature. Also, the ability to offset for capo or drop tuning white keeping the open tuning note designations is really helpful while I'm still not fluent in knowledge of the notes. Great product.

Absolutely amazing! By far the best Tuners on the market. I recently bought 4 of them to have at work, home and in two of my guitar cases. I have also done many guitar set-ups with these. The display is gorgeous and the accuracy is second to none. You owe it to yourself (and those listening) to use these! Nice work Peterson.

Very accurate. I used this on a Gibson acoustic and it definitely made a difference from a previous tuner. I used the Sweetner setting.

Pretty much self-explanatory (for me at 87). I'm a Uke Beginner and changed to the UKE Sweetner with no problem :-). I bought the tuner used and it was set to Guitar for a few days, changed to the UKE Sweetner and noticed the difference right away. The instructions use a pretty small font, it could be larger for us oldies. Or a link to download a PDF.
