Because a Virtual Strobe™ Tuner displays fundamental tones and does not display overtones and partials, it is not as useful as a "spinning disc" strobe tuner for tap tuning.
Due to the extreme brevity of tap tones, only a true strobe tuner displays notes with sufficient clarity and speed-of-light response. The amplitude of tones is also displayed. The most ideal tuner for this purpose is the Strobe Center™ 5000-II followed by the AutoStrobe™ series. These are the only true strobe tuners manufactured today.
StroboSoft™ can be used for tap tuning with the addition of compressor to increase the sustain of the tone.
