StroboClip HD Review

I'm not sure where my particular StroboClip HD fell in the production life of this product. But it didn't have the nut and bolt attachment where the tuning head connects to the clip and it came apart. The good news is Peterson support responded immediately and have shipped me the needed hardware to fix it. The connection failure is why I'm not giving this a 5-star review.
The tuner performance is excellent. It took me a few days to get used to its speed and sensitivity. But now that I have, tuning with the HD has become second nature. If it's on my Strat, I adjust in the direction rotation. If on any of my standard headstocked guits, its with the rotation on top, against on the bottom. Actually had to think about that for a second... If there's anything to whine about, it might have to do with battery life. If you leave it on and start playing, it will stay energized and bleed that battery. I've gotten into the habit of reaching up and shutting it off when I'm done tuning. Haven't replaced a battery in over a month, and I play a ton.
I love the sweetened tunings. At first I was thinking it was a bunch of marketing hype. But my with my HD going out of service with the connection failure, I've been forced to revert to my previous non-Peterson tuner and I'm hearing the difference. Sweetened tunings are for real.
So I've given this thing 4 stars. But I've also ordered my second copy. Hope it'll be waiting for me at home tonight. Will be interesting to see how the new one is assembled.
