Just right to protect the tuner in the guitar case . . .or gig bag. I am somewhat picky about taking care of my "tools" as first, I am on a fixed income and replacement is not a term I like and second, I just don't like finding things broken at the worse possible time (at a gig) with few or no options to avail oneself. I carry a tuner like this to backup the tuner in the pickup electronics - call me obsessive if you will, but not out of tune.
