Hi,
I own Strobosoft deluxe (which is for the most part a very fine piece of software) and when I saw iStrobosoft in the AppStore, I couldn't resist buying it, feeling sure it would be very convenient to rely on this for some concerts instead of having to take my laptop with me... I was at the same time very impressed with the responsiveness of the software (tested then on a 2nd generation ipod touch with an external mic), and quite disappointed with the functionality... It is, by far, the worst investment I've done with the AppStore. No alternate temperament, no 415 or 392 pitch... I did not expect being able to define my own temperaments, but I was very surprised to see the absence of the usual set of temperaments (at least some quarter and sixth comma meantone) one can find in the cheapest version of strobosoft (standard)... Without an extended range for A pitch, I can't even use it as a tuning fork ! (I almost never play in 440Hz pitch) Adding this would be a couple of hours programming and designing, so I guess it must be a design choice to sell iStrobosoft as a such crippled piece of software, or could I hope an update could add those alternate temperaments and extend the A pitch range ? phjo |

We will have an update for iStroboSoft available on the App Store in the coming weeks that will extend the A440 range to 340Hz - 540Hz as currently in StroboSoft. This will be a free update. iStroboSoft was designed to be a low cost alternative for users simply looking for an easy-to-use, accurate tuner without all the bells and whistles. As the app gains popularity, we are receiving requests from many tuning communities to add features that move away from the original target market. The design choice was to create a streamlined app and not 'cripple' or limit features. With the new upgrade options the Apple 3.0 OS provides, we soon hope to be able to offer upgradeable options that a user can select and customize their app for individual use rather than offer a palette of options that may not be required for the average user. This helps keep costs low for those who do not require added features. |

Any news on whether additional temperaments will be available for us keyboard players?
I really want a Peterson on my phone, but I cant justify it if it can't stretch-tune my Rhodes or clav. Perhaps with the additional horsepower of the 3GS? |

The opportunity is available for upgradeable apps within OS 3.0. We are looking at developing and offering upgrade paths sometime early 2010. Exact availability and/or pricing has not been determined at this time. |

When presets become available, as previously mentioned, these will be able to be purchased as an in-app upgrade to iStroboSoft. The recent free upgrades address improvements to the core version only with some added personalization options.
No release date is available at this time for in-app upgrades. |
