Hi, I'm trying to make some tuning on a vintage bandoneon but I do not know what is the air pressure should I use for tuning that kind of instruments. Does some one know how may I calculate it or where can I find some information about?
Thanks

Hi Andres,
It is said that accordions / accordeons / bandoneons should be tuned at 300 Pascal (= 1 Newton per square meter or 3 Millibar) air pressure.
Heres a pic of an accordion tuning station with an air pressure gauge...

Here a close-up of the pressure gauge (just above the StroboFlip), note the red markers set at 300 Pascal/3 Millibar for both blow and draw pressures:

Thanks to Thomas Hoffmann of Akkordeon Service Hoffmann for the pics.

Thanks a lot john, now I must find the way of measuring 300 Pascals. Here in argentina it seems impossible to find a manometer for such low pressure.

Hi Andres

You can easily build manometer from wood and plastic tube. It is accurate enough for tuning purposes. This kind of manometer is better for accordion tuning because you'll need to measure both suction and pressure.
Also try ebay for Dwyer Magnehelic manometers. I bought used manometer there an it was bargain. Attached is link to my web pages where you can see Peterson and home made manometer in use pressure ( vacuum) around 5mbar = 2inH2O.

Best Regards Jaakko
