The stand alone looks great! I use a Pro Tools HD3 system and use Amp Farm quite often. This would make a great insert plug-in. It would be great to have a few of them going at the same time!

So, any chance of seeing this happen? I'm sure an all in one TDM,RTAS,VST and AU version/s would certainly make a lot of people very happy(myself included!).

You can have multiple copies of StroboSoft open at the same time by holding the CTRL key down when launching a new instance of the software. This will enable you to seperately tune more than one instrument at the same time or allow you to have unique tuning settings (or noise filter settings) in each copy of StroboSoft for different instruments.

You can set any of the parameters in each copy of StroboSoft to your liking but you cannot save data to any copy when you have more than one instance open. You will have to close (not minimize) all the copies open except the one that has the settings you wish to save.

If you have StroboSoft Deluxe, you can take advantage of the seperate left and right inputs to tune two instruments per copy. Opening two copies will let you tune four instruments and so on.

Regards,
Marshall

Like it or hate it, Pro Tools is in about 98% of the professional commercial studios in the world, Digidesign stuff is notorious for not working well with other apps open & closing it just to tune is not practical…

Do you worry that not having a TDM/RTAS version will severely affect your potential market share?

I realise that with your VST version most users will be able to use your product within Pro Tools via the excellent FXpansion VST to RTAS Adapter but a lot of your potential customer may be ether unaware of that adapter, do not wish to pay the extra just to use your software or do not like the idea of having a 3rd party VST adapter running on their daily money mill.

I realise the Digidesign SDK kits are hard to get, but do you intend to do a true RTAS/TDM version in the future?

Cheers

N

I 100% agree with you and this is being worked on right now. However, these things take time to develop, beta, fix any issues from beta, etc.

Absolutely. We have identified this from day one and it would not be fair for you to think we are going to ignore the ProTools community by not catering to them with a dedicated version. We are functioning with LE systems currently and that was something we implemented late last year due to LE user requests.

LE users greatly outweighed the HD users early 2006 so we focused our development efforts towards them immediately. Obviously, as time goes on and the application gets more recognized in the PT realm, I anticipated the 'weight' the HD users would carry so we are working towards a TDM/RTAS version this year.

I have not seen any updates on protools support (either rtas or tdm) in over a year. Any news or is this just a dead issue for you guys. I was very excited when strobosoft first came out but it just doesn't seem to be very agressively supported.

Hi scotth,

Thank you for your post.

We have received clearance to participate in the Digidesign Third Developer Program some time ago. However, we have not moved forward in developing a native RTAS/TDM version until our VST/AU is completed and launched.

Our 2.0 version will be released in July and that will clear up development time for further investigation into native versions of Protools plug-ins.

I have to disagree with you in saying that we are not aggressive in supporting our only software product. We have released 6 new, free updates since its inception that added more new features with every release.

From emails and posts on this forum, many PT users agreed that the ultimate solution would be to have a native version but they would settle for VST (adapted) version of StroboSoft for use with PT.

A native version for PT is definitely not a dead issue with us however priorities in order of requested versions have been what we have addressed. While PT is considered to be the 'giant' in the music software industry, the request for VST/AU support has far outweighed native RTAS/TDM inquiries.

Please visit our product page, this forum, or email me (info@strobosoft.com) to receive further news on PT native versions of StroboSoft.
