The Art of Sweetened Tuning — Electric and Acoustic Piano

Peterson tuners feature unique Sweetener™ presets not found in any other brand of tuner. This comes from an almost 70-year legacy reaching back to the dawn of popular music as we know it today.

Decades of research and the experience of musicians the world over has led to the creation of the “Sweetener”, a system of preset tuning offsets designed for specific instruments, only available on Peterson tuners, and used worldwide wherever precise and professional results are expected.

Peterson tuners have long been the choice of mallet instrument manufacturers, technicians and regulators. The current Strobo series of tuners from Peterson includes the StroboPlus®, a compact and affordable battery-operated tuner which is capable of stretching octaves and which features stretched tunings for electric and acoustic piano. These presets are intended for monitoring the instrument’s condition and for making minor corrections. Do not attempt to tune without having basic tuning skills and technique. Learn the correct use of mutes and a tuning hammer before attempting to tune your piano. If in doubt, consult a qualified piano technician. For electric pianos, use the EQU setting if a stretch tuning is not desired.
